Have you ever wanted to start a business, turn a craft into cash, dive into a side hustle but simply haven’t known where to start? 

If you answered yes to any of the above, the Small Business Speed Launch is for you!  

Student Enterprise are collaborating with Women in Business again for 2025, to bring you a jam-packed weekend with expert speakers, interactive presentations, structured content and the chance to meet like-minded students who are interested in everything from monetising a creative skill, diving into a side-hustle, starting a brand, or launching a startup.  Join us on Friday 21 – Sunday 23 March at the Student Enterprise Junction along with a host of expert speakers to teach you all the basics to get you started.  

You don’t need a business idea to come, but if you do, we’ll help you take it to the next level.  

What will I learn? 

This event will teach you everything you need to know about starting your own business – from starting your own e-commerce store and building a brand people will remember, to sales, marketing and accounting.  

We will teach you invaluable skills including how to overcome setbacks, build resilience, and navigate criticism. This event is open to anyone, no matter your course, background, or aspirations.  

During the Small Business Speed Launch you’ll have the opportunity to receive expert advice, get hands on skill development (we learn by doing here at Student Enterprise), and to meet fellow students with a passion for enterprise, whether side-hustles, freelance projects or startups, alongside seasoned founders with stories to tell.

This year’s event will take place over the weekend from Friday 21 – Sunday 23 March.

Who is it for?  

The Small Business Speed Launch is open to all University of Southampton students and recent graduates – and is the perfect opportunity for anyone looking to learn all the tips and tricks of how to start your own business! We will teach you everything you need to know your business forward, or simply to learn the basics of starting a business. You don’t need to have a business idea to come, just a willingness to learn!
