Direction for 2012 Gatherings

Steve asked the question and outlined the types of things he could talk about at Junction Gathering’s for the next 6 months.

Began by defining theology. Theology is the study of God. A lot of problems with Christianity arise from a lack of understanding about God. Even once we are with Him in eternity, we will still spend eternity learning about Him.

Topics could include:

Culture - often what people are thinking, doing and saying, they think is an expression of their Christianity, when it is actually an expression of their culture.

Mission - abroad and on our doorstep

Steve Swain presented an informal session, starting with an interview with Helen Crothers on her affiliation with African Action International. (done at very short notice - well done Helen!)

Why did Helen go to Africa? All her life she had an affinity with coloured people. She wanted to go but was scared to, after the Entebbe airport hostage crisis in 1976. However, her interest in Africa grew and she was encouraged further by her first trip there in 2005. She loves the people of Africa and what God is doing in their lives.
