Last night I was trawling the usual sites for some movie previews for upcoming releases, and I came across Blades of Glory which is a figure skating "comedy" starring Will Ferrell.

Upon hearing that description, I flashed upon an image of myself, bloodied in a movie theatre screaming, "My eyes! My God, my eyes!"

A prequel for Battlestar Galactica

No idea when they will start showing season 2 if this series, however just heard that they will produce a spin-off prequel called "Caprica" which is set 50 years before the events of the first series - detailing the creation of the Cylons.

For fans of the lamentedly truncated Firefly series, the feature movie Serenity is out on DVD. I got a copy from Big W but have also seen it at EZ DVD at Fountain Gate.

Just watched a preview for a very odd but potentially interesting little movie called "Special".

The plot summary from IMDB: Les Franken leads a painfully unremarkable life as a metermaid until he enrolls in a drug study for an experimental anti-depressant. An unexpected side effect of the drug convinces Les he is developing special powers and must quit his job to answer his new calling in life... Superhero. A very select group of people in life are truly gifted. Special is a movie about everyone else.

You've got to love a movie trailer that uses Popcorn as the soundtrack...
