Fire and water

Kids chasing bubbles
Bonfire fuel piles up

A recent beautiful Saturday afternoon, was spent with our community getting together over fire and water, with a touch of nature thrown in for good measure.

It began with the kindness of neighbours, who allowed Junction families to come visit and meet their farm animals.  The children were very excited and enthusiastically set to the task of petting lambs and chasing chickens, walking through the orchards and picking ripe fruit from the trees.

We then gathered in support of Tim, who bravely took the step of being baptised in water - the bravery not only in the deciding to be baptised, but having the baptism in the local farm dam!  (the water was beyond freezing).

After witnessing Tim's commitment, it was time to make our way back to homebase to enjoy some time together and to get set for the finale.

A substantial amount of fuel was gathered for the bonfire, in between playing with bubles, having a kick of the footy and gathering together to enjoy a shared meal.

Once the sun started down, it was time and the bonfire lit not only our night, but a lot of the local night sky.  It was hot enough to warm even Tim's freezing bones!

A wonderful day spent with family and friends at the Junction.

Happy Anniversary

Our community
Kim speaks

Kids were especially in mind when we gathered together to celebrate 3 years of the Junction at the end of July.

Although our anniversary is early July, we had to postpone - however when we  came together, it was time to celebrate!

The kids were well catered for with some early activities relating to our history, with the added treat of balloon animals and use of the indoor playground.

About 50 people attended our special morning - including our families, young adults and many good friends of the Junction.  In keeping with our engaging community emphasis, it was held in the Function room at Castello's Berwick Springs hotel, with delicious cakes and biscuits for all the sweet tooths and tea, coffee and soft drinks to wash it down.

A presentation of images, showing was the Junction in past years was enjoyed by all.  The most obvious things were family and being out and about in public spaces!

That's what we are all about, a community for all, including kids, reaching out into our community.

That's what we have been doing and what we will be doing for years to come!

Happy Anniversary to the Junction!
