Junction's 5th Birthday

We celebrated the 5th birthday of the Junction with a low key, but moving gathering at Beaconsfield Community Complex.  Many friends and family joined us for this time of sharing, thankfulness and worship.

Kim spoke beautifully on the highs and lows of the Junction and pastoring this motley crew (my words, not his…..).  Mark Tonkin and Brad Cook worked with a full band, leading us in a simple, yet moving time of worship (thanks guys!).  We had great testimonies from Steve and Sonia, Lauren and Rizzo and the kids expressed their thankfulness in the children’s ministry.

As a family group, we came together at the end and lit a candle for one thing we were thankful for and then gathered those candles together on a simple altar.  It was very moving and I was so proud and pleased to be a part of this great community and in the way we worshipped and thanked God for this community.

Best of all, we finished by sharing a meal, with many staying to eat the shared lunch brought by many.

Five years are done and as many 5 year olds experience a big change in starting school, (including a few in our community), so will we with a move to Doveton Neighbourhood Centre as of the start of August.

New beginnings, many friends, food and fun.  How much better can church get?
