2H Auction Night
Well over 200 people were in attendance at Urban Life in Ringwood, for the 2H Photographic Exhibition/Auction. Entitled "Mercyfields" the exhibition comprised over 65 black and white prints on faces and places in South East Asia, from Australian photographer Kevin Evans.
The 2H Project is an Australian aid organisation, "sending resources and teams to Cambodia to partner with local communities to help with housing projects, medical initiatives, training and education programs and developing micro-business". A team from the Junction will be heading to Cambodia in the coming weeks, to assist with some of these projects.
Each of the photos was available for sale via a silent auction. Wine and cheese tasting were on offer, as were the tasty delights of Urban Life’s Cafe, whilst people browsed and decided on which photos to bid for. About 30 members from the Junction attended, catching up with each other and other friends old and new.
After a flurry of last minute bids, the final tally was about half of the photos sold, with a total of over $12,000 raised for The 2H Project. The photos were brilliant, the support and amount raised even more so. We all had a good time and it was all for a very worthy cause. What more could you ask for?
