About the Junction

We exist to create missional communities. Our dream and vision is to grow a missional community that births hundreds of missional communities, both locally and oversees. They are made up of primary communities that come together to practice disciplines; live in community and outwork mission and mentoring. Each being unique and eventually autonomous communities distinctive to the culture and community it is engaging and living in.

We want to meet people where they are at and walk with them as they journey through life, wrestling with spirituality in the context of their culture. Hopefully the Junction can be the crossroad, an intersection between God and people.

We have moved our Primary Communities into homes around common mission and a shared meal. We value participation from everyone, kids being a vital, active part. We share homes and spaces that we can learn, grow and worship God together. These meet intentionally the first and third Friday or Sunday night of the month, while encouraging a rhythm of shared life and spontaneous frequent friendships. We also gather our whole community to party and celebrate, to tell the stories and to serve our community, through acts of service and kindness.

Our core values were set by the members of the community and underline what we are all about:

Mentoring

• Where people are mentored, discipled, trained and equipped to fulfill life expressed in family, work and recreation.
• Where mutual support and accountability is fostered.
• Where people are nurtured and inspired to find a sense of destiny and purpose for their life.
• Where we journey together in life as peers.

Missions

• Where the heartbeat of every person is a common love for all people and the impact is made on lives across the street and around the world.
• Where the issues of our culture are addressed.
• Where the community can find a viewpoint both practical and godly, where the junction has a healthy, respected name and is a vital part of the community.
• Where people experience the truth about Jesus so as to make the right decisions for their journey.
• Where creative communication to the emerging generation through arts and media is applauded.
• Where the style of worship is more about attitude than age.
• Where church is not about the time of the service or the location of the building.

Community

• Where people find real friendships that last a lifetime.
• Where friends share life and endeavour to live in Community.
• Where people are free to attempt great things for God.
• Where people have nothing to prove, therefore nothing to lose, where risk taking is cheered.
• Where all kinds of people serve God in diverse ways with mutual love, encouragement, respect and unity.
• Where families have time to be together and kids grow up playing together.
• Where strong networks based on friendship are grown.

Disciplines

• Where people struggle, discover and wrestle with God’s word in their world.
